Gardenias

In general I'm not a fan of using white flowers in weddings. Don't get me wrong, I think it can look beautiful, but it's simply not me. I tend to err on the side of color--the more the better. However, currently I am loving the idea of using gardenias. Growing up we had a gardenia bush in the backyard, and my mom always had the flowers scattered around the house. So not only do I have nostalgia for this flower, it is also the perfect white bloom to match my dress and ring bearer's pillow (more on that to come). Coincidence? I think not.

I am totally digging the idea of using the single bloom as a boutonniere for The Boy, and sparingly using a few blooms mixed in with my bouquet.
