All about the hair

So far there have been few vendors that I have seriously been stressing over. Invitations? No. Florals? Not so much. Music? As if. Hair? Oh my goodness I feel sick. I have no idea who I am going to get to do my hair (or makeup for that matter!). Decorations be damned, I want to look beyond amazing and part of looking amazing involves having fabulous hair. Now part of my nervousness could be attributed to my long standing dispute with hair salons. I seem to want one thing, they assume I meant the exact opposite (oh when you said "keep the length" I thought you meant "cut off 4 inches"). Needless to say I have not had the greatest of experiences with salons. So as my big day approaches, how I should have my hair--and who should do it--have been causing quite a headache. I am irrationally terrified that I will end up looking like this:

or this:

Therefore I've been scouring the internet for some style options (if I have pictures, and do several trial runs, they can't mess it up too badly the day of can they....can they?!?!) Since my hair is currently short, I've been debating what kind of style I want. For the longest time I wanted to wear my hair down and have long soft waves (hello extensions!) a la something like this:

but now I'm thinking more along the lines of a soft romantic non-structured updo. Perhaps a loose bun at the base of my neck with a pretty gardenia. Here are some styles that I really enjoy:

These are from the gorgeous Ms. Abby over at style me pretty. I love how she had a a more formal updo for the ceremony and then unpinned her hair for the reception

And of course, I can't mention styles I love without devoting a small section to Jessica Alba.....
